Description:

The model 931101 Operator Interface is a complete keyboard and LCD subsystem designed to interoperate on a local operating network (LONtm). It consists of a 4 x 4 keypad, a 4 line by 20 character LCD display with LED backlighting, one green LED, one red LED, and a piezo buzzer.

The 5" x 7" panel can be mounted in a 4" x 6" cutout and requires less than 1.5" of space behind the panel. The unit requires from 8 to 28 volts DC. The on-board power supply is a switching type, so current draw is inversely proportional to input voltage; in any case the current draw is always less than 250 mA. All connections are via screw terminals or an AMP 4 pin Mate-N-Lok connector.

The software supports the full ASCII character set available (codes 32-127), as well as european and katakana special symbols. ANSI escape codes for cursor location and attributes are implemented for "dumb terminal" emulation. SNVTs allow programming LED and buzzer state, frequency, and/or intermittant patterns.

The processor is a 3150 with a 48K EPROM/FLASH socket (27C512 or AT29C512), so Echelon developers may develop their own code for custom applications. The unit may also be supplied as a board level product with no keyboard or display for systems integrators wishing to use different keyboard/display combinations. Custom bezels and keyboard legends are also available at low cost even for short run applications.

LON, Echelon, and LONWorks are trademarks of Echelon Corporation. Mate-N-Lok is a trademark of AMP, Incorporated.
